I joined the band as a bucket list cross off, as I’ve always wanted to sing in a band from early age. These guys are great musicians and also make it fun being part of the Unknown Pandas. Music has been a part of me for almost 40 years. Song writer, composer and vocalist I have ventured into many projects however this one I find the most challenging to date.
Recorded music in many studios including Real World Studio founded by Peter Gabriel and Windmill Lanes Studios which hosts some of the biggest artists on the planet. Looking forward to the future of Unknown Pandas and excited for us to dabble into some original material which will hopefully be available in 2026. Our own material and possibly an album feels the way forward for me and I can’t think of anyone better to be doing this with than these Pandas.
My interests outside the Pandas are charities, fund raising and helping others reach their own personal goals. Love socialising, watching football (Liverpool being my team) and love travelling to new destinations. I’m a coffee addict but also like a Gin & Tonic however it has to been in a straight glass not a fancy bulb posh glass. The only thing on the planet I don’t like at all even the sight off is Brussels sprouts. Couldn’t eat them as a kid and can’t stand them now.

I’ve been playing drums since 2009, although I’ve been playing music most of my life. From piano, to cornet, to guitar. I finally settled on the drums though, but still like to pick up my guitars or play keys from time to time. My favourite style to play would be funk rock, but I’ll give pretty much any style a go. I am heavily influenced by great drummers such as John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Scott Phillips (Alter Bridge), Jose Pasillas (Incubus) and Jay Postones (Tesseract).
Since we started the band in 2023, the best thing about being an Unknown Panda has to be the great people I play with. We always try to have fun with what we do and work as a group to drive the band forward, sharing ideas, song choices and suggestions for us as a group. Looking forward, I have aspirations of seeing Unknown Pandas releasing our first single and album and starting to tour across the UK.
Outside of Unknown Pandas, I enjoy walking and spending time outdoors or watching a good film. My favourite food is pasta, my favourite drink is tea (can’t start a day without it!) My favourite movie is Aliens, my favourite band would have to be Tesseract, and my favourite song would be Blackbird by Alter Bridge. Finally, a fun fact about me – I don’t like beetroot.

I’m a guitarist with 13 years of playing experience. By day I work as an engineer, but music has always been my creative outlet. I’m especially drawn to instrumental guitar, taking inspiration from players like Guthrie Govan, and I enjoy exploring that mix of technique and expression in my own playing.

Our band was formed during a fun night out after watching a local band play. That night, I had an epiphany: “I could do that!” A few messages later, and the band was formed.
I started playing guitar around age 14, self-taught, which led to a few technical bad habits. However, I simply enjoyed playing along to bands like Rage Against the Machine, Incubus, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Muse, and many others that fueled my lifelong love for rock music.
Outside of music, my family brings me the greatest joy. My wife, four kids, and two dogs keep me busy and active, and we love spending time together.
I’m truly enjoying this “panda ride” with the band and look forward to continuing to build our foundation, write, and release our own original material, all while enjoying the music every step of the way.

Bassist. DJ. Grump. Jon has been recording, spinning, and keeping rhythm while everyone else fumbles the beat. Living solo gives him room to stretch, his bass to roar, and his sarcasm to thrive. Stage-ready when necessary, but don’t even think about Free Bird.
