A little bit about those helping to build the Unknown Pandas experience
Chris – Sound Engineer

I’ve been the “ears” for the Unknown Pandas since early 2024, but my journey started in the trenches of our local pub’s open mic nights. That’s where I first met Colin; I think he liked the fact that I could adapt on the fly to whatever performer walked through the door, making a chaotic room sound like a real stage.
I’m not one of those “all-knowing” sound gurus—I’m a firm believer in learning on the go and growing with every gig. Whether I’m squeezing a six-piece acoustic band into a tiny corner or balancing the Pandas’ high-energy sets, my goal is always the same: keep improving and keep it authentic.
We’ve adopted a “silent stage” philosophy with the Pandas, which allows me to tailor the mix specifically to each room without the stage volume fighting me. You usually won’t find me hiding behind a massive desk in the back corner. I prefer being out in the crowd with my tablet, mixing from where you are standing to make sure our HK Audio Linear 3 system is delivering the exact warmth and clarity the band is known for.
The Tool Kit
Primary Console: Soundcraft Ui24R (Digital mixing and multi-track recording)
FOH System: HK Audio Linear 3 Compact (Chosen for its exceptional depth, warmth, and high-fidelity clarity)
Stage Setup: Full “Silent Stage” configuration for maximum room control
Mixing Philosophy: Remote tablet-based mixing to ensure the audience experience is the priority

Laura – Graphic Designer

I’m Laura, you’ve probably seen me at gigs acting as a roadie helping to carry Alex’s drum kit in and out of venues. I’m also responsible for designing the band’s logos, branding, posters and some of the social media content. I graduated with a first class honours degree in Graphic Design from UCW / Bath Spa Uni in 2025, so this has been a great opportunity to apply my skills for a real world client.
I create digital designs in an illustrative way. I often use craft techniques and processes in my work, such as lino printing, which gives a unique and handmade feel. I enjoy making images for print collections as well as repeat patterns for use in surface pattern design.
As well as working with Unknown Pandas, I am busy creating new designs for art prints, greetings cards and homewares. I take inspiration from nature and seasonal events, as well as cute or meaningful phrases.
You can check out some of my other work on my Portfolio Website: lauramurraydesigns.co.uk and you can follow me on Social Media: Facebook , Instagram
I’m currently working on adding an Unknown Pandas Merchandise section to my Shopify store: lauramurraydesigns.myshopify.com
